The method of outputting a communication path non-connection cause of a portable remote terminal through the portable remote terminal upon non-connection in a ratio telephone network cordlessly transmitting/receiving data between a base station and the portable remote terminal, includes the steps of: judging whether the communication path is connected as a user tries to connect the communication path; detecting non-connection cause, if the communication path was not connected in said step; outputting a corresponding error message, if the non-connection cause is detected; and performing a communication mode, if the communication path is connected in the above judging step.
