Power-assisted steering control element for fork lift truck

The control element consists of two horizontal handgrips (15a,15b) on a common centre line (17) which intersects (18) a vertical axis (14) of rotation in front of the driver. The inner end of each handgrip carries a rotary switch (16a,16b) for control of the steering and driving unit. The driver can operate these switches without removing either hand from its handgrip. Feeler switches (22a,22b) have annular contact surfaces (23) within reach of the fingers operating the rotary switches and movable in the direction of the centre of the assembly.
