<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the follow-up property of a tracking operation good. SOLUTION: Received outputs of respective antenna elements 2 are converted into low-frequency intermediate-frequency signals by block converters 4, phases of the intermediate-frequency signals are adjusted by phase shifters 6, and the direction of every beam is changed. The intermediate-frequency signals are synthesized by a synthesizer 8, and their level is detected by a detector 12 so as to be supplied to a CPU 14. The CPU 14 scans the phase shifters 6 in such a way that it repeatedly directs every beam to different angles of elevation on both sides of a present beam in the direction of an angle of elevation and that it repeatedly directs every beam to different azimuth angles on both sides of the present beam in the direction of an azimuth angle. The CPU 14 compares detection levels in the different angles of elevation, it compares the detection levels in the different azimuth angles, and it controls the phase shifters 6 in such way that, according to compared results, every beam is directed to the angle of elevation and the azimuth angle so as to become a maximum reception level in the direction of the angle of elevation and a maximum reception level in the direction of the azimuth angle.</p> |
