FIELD: acceleration equipment, development of devices for acceleration of both light and heavy charged particles up to relativistic energies, design of nuclear reactors based on interaction of opposite beams of particles. SUBSTANCE: process of acceleration of beam of charged particles includes action on injected beam of charged particles by electromagnetic field variable in time. Beam of charged particles is exposed in free space to simultaneous action of electromagnetic waves: standing electromagnetic wave periodic in space and time and linearly polarized formed, for example, inside Fabry-Perot interferometer under action of laser radiation on it and linearly polarized electromagnetic wave variable in time emitted, for instance, by laser radiation source. Waves have same oscillation cycle, coinciding polarization planes and mutually perpendicular polarization directions. In this case beam of changed particles is injected in plane of polarization of electromagnetic waves in polarization direction of standing electromagnetic wave.
