PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can remove a memory area, caused on a photoreceptive drum by the separation of the rear end of a sheet, without unnecessarily damaging the photoreceptive drum and in any image formation mode. SOLUTION: The level of the output of a precleaner charger for removing a memory area is switched to a number of levels according to the number of sheets attracted onto a transfer drum 202 or according to a sheet size. Also, because, before image transfer, the memory effect occurs in an area corresponding to the rear end of the sheet, the output of a pretransfer eraser 221 is made different from that in other area than that, thereby minimizing the influence of the memory effect. |
