PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically regulate the reflection surface of a scintillator crystal by causing the scintillator crystal to emit light in response to received radiation and letting a processor to process signals from a photodetector to produce a diagnostic image. SOLUTION: A scintillator crystal 22 converts radiation received by a detector into photons 26. An optical conduction plate 28 of glass, for example, is coupled optically with an array of photodetection mechanism such that a photomultiplier 30 is coupled with the crystal 22. The photomultiplier 30 multiplies photons 26 generated through scintillation phenomenon in response to an electric signal 32. A position processor 34 collects the signals 32 and determines a spatial position. A reconfiguration processor 36 processes information of the upper position of detector and information of X, Y coordinates to produce a three- dimensional volume image, a two-dimensional cross-sectional image and a projection image. The processed electronic images are stored in an image memory 38.
|
