<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of arranging automatically power pads, in which power consumption is considered. SOLUTION: A pad list corresponds to the sequential array of input/output cells arranged on an IC chip. Input/output cells are sequentially selected from the list until the total required current I1 reaches the maximum current IN available from a pair of power pads Vdd, Gnd (S1). The selected input/output cells are sequentially arranged on the chip in such a manner that they surround a pair of power pad cells Vdd, Gnd (S2). The steps S1 and S2 are repeated until all pad cells in the list are arranged (S3).</p> |
