PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost single layer type photoreceptor having high sensitivity and excellent in stability at the time of repetitive use by combining a specified phthalocyanine pigment with a specified compd. SOLUTION: This photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer on the electrically conductive substrate and the photosensitive layer is a single layer contg. a phthalocyanine compd. having a particle size distribution in which particles of 0.1 to <0.5μm account for >=60vol.% of the total amt. as an electric charge generating material, at least one kind of org. acceptor-like compd. represented by formula I or II and a bonding resin. In the formula I, each of R<1> -R<4> is H, etc., X is =0, =C(A)(B), -N-R<9> , etc., each of A and B is H, -COOR<10> , etc., R<9> is alkyl, etc., and R<10> is alkyl. In the formula II, each of R<5> -R<8> is alkyl, etc.
