Concrete residues, or similar, are charged to the water-supplied filling vessel. Its long, slender, conveyor housing is angled to run upwards, to a high discharge. Here the separated coarser residues are discharged. The motor driven screw partly enters the filling vessel below, and fills the housing up to the discharge opening. Only a single conveyor screw (18) is used, its rotation axis parallel to the length of the conveyor casing (13). Rotating charging devices (30,31) in the filling vessel (10) load the conveyor screw from the sides. The feeders or charging devices are constructed as scraper wheels, and share a horizontal axis perpendicular to, and on either side of the conveyor screw. The wheels have angled strip scrapers (40), pref. with L-shaped section. The filling vessel is essentially a horizontal cylinder. Its dia. conforms with that of the scraper wheels. The scraper wheel drive shaft (32) is mounted in bearings at either end of the filling vessel.
