A main conveying passage (M) is formed with an introduction passage (I), along which a paper money (S) is introduced. Provided in the main conveying passage is an endless belt (25) adapted to contact one side surface of the paper money (S). Provided on an upstream side of the main conveying passage relative to the introduction passage (I) is a feed roller (70) adapted to contact one side surface of that paper money which has entered the introduction passage, a swing arm (74) swingably mounted on a rotating shaft (73) of the feed roller, a pressing roller (27) rotatably mounted to the swing arm so as to contact the feed roller (70) and a coiled spring (75) for biasing the swing arm (74) in a direction, in which the swing arm (74) is moved towards the endless belt (25). The feed roller (70) contacts the pressing roller (27), which is rotated by the operation of the endless belt (25), and is rotated by the rotation of the pressing roller (27) to convey the paper money in the introduction passage. <IMAGE> |
