At the beginning of winding, the thread is caught by a tongue set above a trough. A clamping gap formed between the tongue and trough opens into the rear cut section between trough and tongue. The clamping gap is in a plane extending axially and radially to the surface of the winding sleeve or in a plane extending axially and tangentially to the sleeve surface. The height of the rear cut section decreases towards the gap.
