<p>An electrical switching device (70) such as a motor starter (80) is adapted to be controlled through control signals (C,E,R) in control wiring (42) and includes separable contacts (72,88); an operating mechanism (74,86) for opening and closing the separable contacts (72,88); first terminals (34,34') for interfacing the control signals (C,E,R) to the operating mechanism (74,86); a modular surge suppressor circuit (6) for suppressing a surge associated with the control signals (C,E,R), with the modular surge suppressor circuit (6) including second terminals (32) for engaging the first terminals (34,34') and interfacing the control signals (C,E,R) thereto; and a modular terminal block (8) for interfacing the control signals (C,E,R) in the control wiring (42) to the modular surge suppressor circuit (6).</p> |
