TOOL HEAD FOR MACHINE-TOOLS

The tool head has a base (10) with an axially projecting tool shaft, coupled to the rotating machine spindle and at least one tool carriage (16), displaced transverse to the axis (12) of the base. The displacement of the tool carriage is measured directly, for electronic regulation of an electric setting motor (20). The cylindrical motor housing (45) of the setting motor fits in a transverse recess of the base, intersecting its axis, the motor output shaft extending parallel to this recess. Pref. the tool carriage displacement direction and the recess are perpendicular to one another.
