PURPOSE:To improve safety of operation of an electric power plant by allowing solid material which has particle diameter free from trouble for operation of an apparatus and has softness undamaging the lining of an inner pipe wall to flow and removing slime and young bodies of stuck organisms by contact and rubbing on the pipe wall and preventing growth of the stuck organisms. CONSTITUTION:The amount of sponge balls 6 capable of obtaining sufficient rubbing action of a pipe wall is introduced into the leading end of a seawater pipeline 1. Thereby both slime stuck on the pipe wall and yound bodies 7 weak in adhesion are rubbed and taken off by the sponge balls 6 allowed to flow along the pipe wall and allowed to fall into seawater. The sponge balls 6 are trapped by a recovery equipment 3 and sent to a distribution port 2a through a feed pipe 2 by a circulating flow due to a pump 5 and therein reintroduced into seawater and hereafter removal of slime, etc., is performed by the same procedure. Therefore when this operation is continuously performed or intermittently performed by utilizing a timing device, etc., adhesion of organisms becoming a cause of inhibition for flow of seawater can be prevented. |
