An elevated flooring for electronic computors is formed by supporting square floor sections on pedestals, each section comprising an aluminium base 10 faced with rubber, cork, or vinyl material 26, and bounded by a peripheral rib 14. The rib 14 is of synthetic plastic material and has a flange 44 by which it is press-fitted and adhesively united with a groove in the base 10. It is also shaped with a concave face 36 and a groove 40 so as to improve the joint with adjacent parts of the section. The rib overhangs at 32 to provide a sound and electrically insulating joint between sections. |
