PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To randomize a boundary in order to make the contour inconspicuous by randomizing the lower order data of the CG data. SOLUTION: The R and B data on the images inputted to a frame memory 1 are directly sent to a color correction part 2, and only two lower bits of the G data are switched to the data received from a scanner via the switching of a switch 13 when the following conditions are satisfied. That is, a CG mode is selected (1), the G data is larger than TH1 and smaller than TH2 (2) and the condition of a halftone image (not a character image) is satisfied (3). Thus the contour of a character is maintained. The selection of the CG mode (1) is carried out by a user through a control panel. In the condition (2), a comparator 12 compares the G data with TH1 and TH2 and '1' is outputted when the result of comparison is kept within a set range. In the condition (3), the halftone separation processing is inhibited to a character part by means of the separation processing function of a character/halftone separation part 11 that is used in the digital color copy operation of an electrophotographic system. |
