<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the center running angle of target object accurately, by carrying out a similar figure approximation for the distribution pattern of a receiving reflector signal level by using the antenna gain pattern of radar equipment. SOLUTION: When target object is scanned from the left to the right by radar equipment (S 10), it is made to a receiving level characteristic actually, in which the border of the beam width is vague, the beam reflection is uneven, the form is complicated, and the noises are superinposed. The receiving level characteristic which is plotted to the scanning angle (S 12), is smoothing processed, so as to reduce the influenece of noises (S 14). Then the antenna gain pattern of the radar equipment is superimposed on the smoothed receiving level characteristic, it is moved from the left end to the right end in order, and a similar figure approximation is carried out by the relative operations at those positions (S 16). The peak position of the antenna gain pattern at the moving position of the antenna pattern where the relative error value in the similar figure approximation is the minimum, that is, the relativity is the maximum, is made as the scanning center angle of the target object (S 18).</p> |
