A process for the selective hydroisomerisation of long linear and/or slightly branched paraffins using a catalyst based on a molecular sieve

The selective hydro-isomerisation process for cpds. having at least one alkane chain contg. more than 10 C, comprises contacting with a catalyst comprising at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element and a molecular sieve. The latter component has a porous lattice, mono- or bi-dimensional, in which the accessible pore openings are 10 O atoms in width, and the bridge-width between the pores is less than 0.70 mm. This catalyst, when submitted to the standard n-heptadecane isomerisation test, gives (for a 95% conversion) a selectivity in isomerised prods. of at least 70%.
