PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a sharp image at a time of the use of a plurality of cartridges by arranging a put-aside member restricting the respective cap sealing respective cartridges and putting aside the caps toward both end parts of a restriction sleeve in the hollow part of the restriction sleeve. SOLUTION: A service station services the respective printing heads 34, 35 of a plurality of replaceable ink jet cartridges 30, 32 arranged to a single cartridge ink jet printing mechanism. In this case, a restriction sleeve 52 forming a hollow part terminating at a plurality of the opposed end parts thereof is connected to a frame in a revolvable and parallelly movable manner. A first cap having the size sealing the first cartridge 30 is restricted in the hollow part of the restriction sleeve 52 and a second cap 55 having the size sealing the second cartridge 32 is restricted in the hollow part of the restriction sleeve 32.
