PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the useless consumption of power required for driving an optical signal transmission element for optical communication. SOLUTION: Control is performed so as to increase or decrease the using number of light emitting diodes LED1-LEDn as the optical signal transmission elements for converting data for communication prepared by the form of electric signals to the form of optical signals and trasmitting them one by one. It is turned to the using number at the point of time when a reception response from a reception side optical communication equipment is present in the case of increasing it and it is turned to the using number at the point of time before the point of time when no more reception response is present in the case of decreasing it.
