PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical D/A converter provided with optical input-output characteristics with improved linearity. SOLUTION: Analog signals inputted from an analog signal source 1 are amplified to a prescribed level in an amplifier 2 and then, inputted to an A/D converter 3. The analog signals inputted to the A/D converter 3 are sampled synchronously with the rising or falling edge of clock signals CLK, converted to the digital data of (n) bits and outputted to output terminal 30 -3n-1 . Then, light emitting element 5 connected to any of the terminals 30 -3n-1 to which '1' is outputted are driven and lighted. Since the number of the light emitting elements 5 corresponding to the bit weight of the respective terminals are connected to the respective output terminals 30 -3n-1 of the A/D converter 3, the number of the lighted light emitting elements 5 becomes equal to the number of pieces of binary data of 8 bits outputted from the A/D converter 3 and converted to a decimal number, and optical D/A conversion having the improved lineaity is performed. |
