<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radar apparatus by which the sensitivity, at the end of a coverage region, lacking in the control of a receiving antenna pattern is enhanced and by which the uniformity of the coverage region as a whole is realized. SOLUTION: In a transmitting operation, one repetitive transmission pulse generated by a transmitter 2 is divided into a plurality of subpulses at mutually different frequencies by a variable distributor 3, and the respective subpulses are transmitted from an antenna device 1 which transmits them so as to be allocated to a plurality of angle-of-elevation directions by phase shifters 41 to 4m. In a receiving operation, reflected waves by transmitted subpulses from a plurality of angles of elevation or a plurality of angle-of-depression ranges are captured by the antenna device 1, and they are received simultaneously by a plurality of receivers 61 to 6m and EL synthesis parts 81 to 8n. As the number of their receiving channels, the number of the transmitted subpulses or higher is provided. The receiving angle-of-elevation range of the receiving channel is computed by a computing and processing part 13 and controlled by the time in such a way that a simultaneous receiving channel in the receiving operation covers a wide angle-of-elevation range with reference to a short distance and that it is concentrated in a narrow angle-of-elevation range as it is brought close to a long distance.</p> |
