PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give congestion guidances frequently in a short time and requires no long time for the guidance by judging whether or not the distance between adjacent congestion places is less than a specific value and guiding about a fact that intermittent congestion is occurring when it is judged that the distance is less than the specific value. SOLUTION: A control processor 4 judges whether or not the distance L between congestion links is less than a specific distance (e.g. 300m) unless the distance L is zero. When L<300m at this time, the start point o a 1st congestion link is regarded as the generation point for congestion guidance by using flags indicating intermittent congestion places, and the distance of the intermittent congestion is calculated from the link lengths of the intermittent congestion places and registered in an internal memory. And, when the generation point for congestion guidance is reached, the contents of the flag of the generation point are checked and when the point is a continuous congestion place, a vocal information of, for example, 'The road is continuously congested with traffic for 5Km from here.' is given from a speaker 10 through a speed synthesizer 9. |
