PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cassette tape from being taken out with the tape held drawn out in a running system and to prevent the tape from being damaged by providing a driving inhibition circuit to inhibit a capstan driving circuit and a loading driving circuit from being driven. SOLUTION: When an abnormality of a cassette or a mechanism incurs an overload or a motor locking and a thermal protection function of heat generation detection parts 2 and 6 of either a loading driving circuit 5 or a capstan driving circuit 1 operates at least, a drive inhibition circuit 10 outputs an halt command to the capstan driving circuit 1 and the loading driving circuit 5 simultaneously. Then, a loading motor 7 and a capstan motor 3 are stopped about simultaneously and cassette take-out operation is also stopped. Consequently, the tape is prevented from being damaged when it is taken out remaining drawn out in its running system.
