PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording sensitivity and to make this element adaptable to an optical modulation system overwriting by adopting the constitution obtd. by successively laminating on SiN layer, Ti layer and AlTi alloy layer on a recording layer. SOLUTION: A magneto-optical recording layer 4 is constituted by successively laminating a dielectric layer 5 consisting of SiN and having 500Åthickness, a recording layer 6 having 1000Åthickness and further an SiN layer 7, a Ti layer 8 and an AlTi alloy layer 9 thereon and coating the surface thereof with a UV curing type resin layer 10. The recording power is lowered and B.F.R. is improved if the thickness of the layers 7, 8 is specified to 100 to 300Å, the recording is lowered to suppress the occurrence of pinholes by specifying the thickness of the layer 9 to 100 to 300Å. The recording sensitivity is enhanced and the power at the time of the recording is lowered and is near the power at the time of reproducing by adopting the three-layered structure of the layers 7, 8, 9 in such a manner. Even more, bit is erased by the reproducing power. The recording sensitivity of the magneto-optical disk suitable for overwriting of an optical modulation system consisting of the thick layer 6 is improved.
