PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the designation work of an editing range and to improve the operability of a document editing device. SOLUTION: When one point or one character is designated on the display screen of a display part 9, the block of a sentence, a graphic or a table, which includes one designated point, is searched based on document information registered in a document information memory 7 when the operations of a range designation key 61, a graphic designation key 63 or a table designation key 64 is previously executed. When the pertinent block is detected, the block is designated as the editing range. When the operation of a word designation key 62 is previously executed, characters before and behind one designated character are combined and a character string is generated. The word when it is collated with the word stored in a word dictionary part 4 and they match with each other, is designated as the editing range. |
