The electrical socket is of a type that can be installed in a recess within a wall 18 and is set into a protective element. The socket 22 is pivot mounted on a main body 26 and this allows a certain amount of movement for alignment beneath a flange plate. Attached to the socket are a pair of spring contact arms 24 that provide an earthing connection. A flange plate encloses the installation.
