The generator contains a control (1) for adjustment of the effective value of its output voltage, a measuring apparatus (2) for the noise rate of its output current, transmitting a corresponding output signal and a timer (3). The envelope curve of the generator output voltage is so adjusted in the time sequence that a sawtooth modulation results, with a maximum and minimum effective voltage value and time interval between them between 1 to 50 ms. The mean voltage value is so adjusted as to provide a constant, low output current noise, not exceeding 5%. The modulation rate is also specified.
