Hydraulic brake system with device for active braking

The system has a pedal operated master cylinder (1) which connects to a reservoir (2) with a dual brake circuit (I,II). One circuit (I) is in contact with the master cylinder through a brake line (3) and contains four wheel brake (17,18,31,32). The compression side of the auxiliary pump (8) is connected to the brake line over an hydraulically activated 3 or 2 way shuttle valve (6). The valve has three connectors which are joined to the master cylinder, the auxiliary pump and a hydraulic unit (9). The valve connects either the auxiliary pump or the master cylinder with the hydraulic unit. In an initial position, the master cylinder and the hydraulic unit are connected by spring force. In the case of an unactivated master cylinder, the pressure head of the auxiliary pump switches to the shuttle valve, so that the auxiliary pump connects with the hydraulic unit. The master cylinder acts upon the shuttle valve in the direction of its initial position.
