Flexible photo conductive image carrier for colour electrophotography

The photo-conductive image carrier has an elastic support layer (13) with an elastic modulus of less than 5/*10<7> Pascal. The photo-conducting layer (10) is of less than 30 micron thickness and an elastic modulus of at least 10<8> Pascal. The photo-conducting layer can be a multi-layer. The photo-conducting layer has a thickness of at least 7 to 15 micron. A toner image from the carrier surface (8) is transferred to the receptor sheet via a controlled gap using an electric field.
