The co-ordinated therapeutic use of L-carnitine, lower alkanoyl L-carnitines or the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof with resveratrol, resveratrol derivatives or resveratrol-containing natural products is disclosed for producing a medicament for the prophylaxis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders, peripheral vascular diseases and peripheral diabetic neuropathy.
