PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in gas barrier properties, especially oxygen barrier properties, useful for packing uses for general foods, retort foods, medicines, etc., by aggregating an inorganic laminar compound and then combining the aggregated compound with a resin. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an aggregated inorganic laminar compound satisfying conditions of 5<D/L [(L is an average particle diameter of an inorganic laminar compound before aggregation; D is an average particle diameter of the aggregated inorganic laminar compound (average aggregated particle diameter)] and 1μm<D<1,000μm and (B) 200-10,000 pts.wt. of a resin (preferably a polyolefin resin, a polyvinyl alcohol, a saponified ethylene vinylacetate copolymer or a polyamide). The compound is further mixed with (C) 50-100,000 pts.wt. of a dispersion medium (preferably water or an alcohol). The composition is obtained by dispersing the inorganic laminar compound into the component C to give a dispersion, aggregating the inorganic laminar compound in the dispersion and combining the aggregated inorganic laminar compound with the resin. |
