摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to measure the propulsion direction, such as the azimuth angle of a tunnel excavating machine without lowering the work efficiency of tunnel excavation. SOLUTION: This device is set up at the tip of a tunnel excavating machineαwhile a gyrocompass 4, which measures the azimuth angle in the propulsion direction of the tunnel excavating machineαand power cable having separable connectors 7a and 7b are set up on the ground. There are provided a ground power source 5, which feeds power to the gyrocompass 4 by way of the power cable 6 and a battery 8 which is set up in the tip device 2 and stores power from the ground power source 5 and dischargingly feeds power to the gyrocompass 4 when the power supply from the round power source is interrupted.
