<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide exact identification even if the condition of a road surface changes by selectively-identifying outputted light with a particular light emitting means, fetching vehicle speed data in a processing circuit, and discriminating it as a partition line if a line drawn on the road surface continuously over a preset distance is detected. SOLUTION: This lane detection device is provided with a light receiving means 1 which receives the reflected light from the driving road surface of a vehicle and converts it into an electric signal, a control circuit 3 which involves an identification circuit 2 for discriminating partition lines drawn on the road surface from the output of the light receiving means and a light emitting means 4 which emits light to the road surface on the right and left of a vehicle. The light receiving means 1 selectively-identifies the outputted light of the light emitting means 4, and the identification circuit 2 identifies a partition line drawn on the road surface from the relative value of the average reflected light level of the road surface. When the data of vehicle speed (v) are fetched and the line drawn on the road surface continuously for a duration of L/v seconds for a preset distance L meter (two meters or more) is detected, identification output is made effective.</p> |
