PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively apply ink or a coating material to the plate on a plate cylinder or the plate on a blanket cylinder by providing an applicator roller applying aq. ink or flexographic printing ink to a flexographic printing plate. SOLUTION: Printing units 22, 24, 26, 28 are substantially same and planned by a conventional method. An in-feed transfer cylinder, a plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder and an impression cylinder are contained in the first printing unit 22 and all of them are supported so as to be rotated in a state parallelly arranged between printing press side frames 14, 15 constituting printing unit towers T1, T2, T3, T4. Each of three printing units 22, 24, 26 has the transfer cylinder arranged so as to transfer a sheet just printed from the adjacent impression cylinder to further transfer the same to the next printing unit through an intermediate transfer.
