Current-limiting contact system for LV circuit-breaker

The system of contacts is opened electrodynamically in consequence of a very high short-circuit current. In the meantime a reverse movement of the contact bridge (10) within a fork (40) at the end of a striker pin (38) is opposed by a first catch (48). The electromagnetically accelerated pin is prevented by a second catch (62,63) from moving away from a spring-biased clamping ring (54). A stationary plunger (58) releases the bridge from the first catch. The fork is freed from the second catch by the accelerated bridge holder (18) as a consequence of the succeeding trip movement.
