The ground roller has a central support tube (7) with spaced out elastically deformable plastics ground compacting rings (15). The rings are of mushroom or T-shaped cross-section with their upright web (17) held on each side by angled section holding rings (16). The turned down ends (18) of the upper web of the rings are each inverted over the upright web (19) of the angled holding ring (16). The upright web (17) of the T-shaped ring has on its inside an expansion to be held by the holding rings. When the compacting rings are assembled on the support tube, the holding rings are pressed against each other.
