The system has a material flow deflection system (22). The material flow after passing a measuring unit (28) is deflected by the deflection system selectively, for diverting the flow to a calibration unit (24), where it is weighed. The calibration operation is automatically and/or manually introduced, e.g. at selected time rates, with the switching on of the amount measuring, with a change of the conveyed medium. The material flow deflection depends on the positions of the individual conveyor elements, the conveyor speed and/or results for a selected time cycle.
