The method involves a linkage comprising a section (2) to be supported made of a metallic material, and a bearing shell made of a non-metallic material. It consists of a charge maintaining technique. The section to be supported and the bearing housing are charged up to different electrical valves. The wear is established by monitoring the difference in charge with time.
