<p>The end plug consists of a main end member (11) with an aperture (8) for the shock absorber rod. An additional component (20) also surrounds the aperture having a reinforcing element (21) which is fixed to the upper face of the main end member, and has an aperture with a diameter which is greater than that in the end member. The inner surface of the additional component has a bulge, so that its internal diameter, in its free state, is smaller than that of the main member aperture, so that it provides a radial compression against the rod. The additional component is made from a resilient material with a Shore A hardness between about 60 and 80. It is moulded in one piece and attached to the reinforcing element by vulcanisation.</p> |
