Disclosed are a developer cartridge 5 designed to facilitate exchange of developers and toner supplement, and an image forming apparatus using this cartridge 5. The developer cartridge 5 comprises a cylindrical body rotatable in an axis perpendicular to the developer carrying direction of the developing unit, two developer storage spaces 60, 61, provided at separate portions of the cylindrical body, for storing unused developer, and supplemental toner respectively, openings 63 and 65 respectively formed in the storage spaces, and a case for rotatably retaining the cylindrical body, the case having a pair of injection ports respectively provided in association with the openings of the storage spaces. The image forming apparatus comprises an endless latent carrier 30, means 32 for forming an electrostatic latent image on the endless latent carrier 30, developing means 4 for developing the electrostatic latent image, a developer cartridge 5 as above detachably attached to the developing means 4 for exchanging developers and for toner supplement and drive means for driving the cylindrical body for exchanging used developer with unused developer and for toner supplement.
