PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a frame memory without producing a fault in sound quality at the time of decoding by preventing an error in a compression signal caused by the end of weight processing at the time of coding. SOLUTION: A bit weighting section 5A is provided with an end signal generating section 51 providing an output of an end signal EW in response to production of a weight signal W. A frame end discrimination section 3 providing an output of a frame end discrimination signal FE at the end of a prescribed unit frame period, a storage section 9 storing a weight signal WA of a just preceding frame, and switches 7-8 selecting either of the signals W, WA in response to the reception of the signal FE to provide the selected signal to a bit allocation section 2A are provided. A decoding arithmetic section is provided with a selector that stops the input of block data BD of a current frame in response to the reception of an error signal E and selects the input of block data DM of a just preceding frame read from an arithmetic memory 9. |
