PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device and method which can predict sales of articles in the next term from sales results of current articles. SOLUTION: Respective coefficients aij of a sale model expression representing the sale amount of articles as a linear combination of elements xij effecting the sales of the articles and coefficients aij showing the degree of influence of the elements are determined on the basis of actual sale result information on the articles. The respective determined coefficients aij t are substituted in the sale model expression, and features of articles which are scheduled to be sold in the next term are supplied as respective elements xij of the sale model expression in which the respective coefficients aij are substituted to calculate the sale predicted amount of the articles scheduled to be sold in the next term. Further, purchaser elements xij are specified and then the predicted sale tendencies of the purchaser layer by specifications are calculated to specify the article elements xij , thereby calculating the predicted sale tendencies of the articles of the specifications by purchaser layers. |
