PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove nitrogen oxides from combustion waste gas containing nitrogen oxides and excess oxygen by using a purifying agent, in which a specific amount of silver and silver compounds, a specific amount of active species, and specified amount of elements and/or compounds of titanium and/or zirconium are deposited on inorganic oxides. SOLUTION: A waste gas purifying agent is constituted of a first catalyst, in which 0.2-15wt.% (value reduced to silver element) of one or more kinds of elements and/or compounds selected from the group consisting of silver and silver compounds, and a second catalyst, in which 0.5-30wt.% (value in terms of metal element) of one or more kinds of elements and/or compounds selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, silver, cobalt, as active species, and 0.1-50wt.% (value in terms of metla element) of elements and/or compounds of titanium and zirconium are carried by porous inorganic oxides. By using the agent, nitrogen oxides in waste gas containing excess oxygen can be efficiently removed over a wide range of temperatures. |
