PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for cleaning a metal, having excellent cleaning performances without any fear of destroying the ozonosphere and any flash point, usable in the same cleaning line even when cleaning treatment of an iron-based metal or a nonferrous metal is carried out without requiring rinsing with water and capable of preventing rusting without separately blending a chemical for the purpose of preventing the rust. SOLUTION: This composition for cleaning a metal comprises (A) 1-15wt.% dodecanedioic acid, (B) 33-70wt.% adduct of 2mol ethylene oxide to a 2-4C aliphatic alcohol, (C) 0.5-5wt.% nonionic surfactant, (D) 0.5-3wt.% nitrilotriacetic acid or its neutralized salt or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its neutralized salt, (E) 0.5-60wt.% alkanolamine [with the proviso that the amount thereof is 50-400wt.% based on the component (A)] and (F) the balance of water (with the proviso that the amount is >=5wt.%). |
