PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a color image having high contrast and giving a recording image having excellent clarity by controlling the heating temperature of a recording medium in response to the permeating velocity parameter of an ink to the recording medium represented by a specific formula. SOLUTION: In the case of ink jet recording for recording a recording medium while heating the medium, the heating temperature of the medium is controlled in response to the permeating velocity parameter S of the ink to the medium of S=γ.cos(θ)/η (where in the formula, γ is the surface tension of the ink, θ is the contact angle of the ink to the medium, and η is the viscosity of the ink, the values are those at 25 deg.C). Specifically, a platen 4 is rotated at a predetermined amount, and a recording medium 1 is brought into close contact with the platen 4, and the medium 1 is heated. A recording head 3 to which ink is supplied from an ink vessel 10 selectively discharges ink droplet from a nozzle according to the movement of a carriage 5 and a printing pattern, and writes an ink image on the medium 1. |
