PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the expansion of a gap between a grinding wheel surface and a tool rest even when dressing is performed by attaching a dresser to the tool rest. SOLUTION: A vertical feeding means 25 for manually moving a tool rest 10 so as to bring the operation surface of a dresser 11 into contact with or separate the same from a grinding wheel surface 81 is provided. When setting is performed by operating the operation handle 29 of the longitudinal feeding means 25 so as to bring the dresser 11 into contact with the grinding wheel surface 81, simultaneously the tool rest 10 is also brought close to the grinding wheel surface 81. Thus, the expansion of a space between the grinding wheel 81 and the tool rest 10 is prevented even when dressing is performed, the readjustment of the space is made unnecessary and automatically held in a safe condition. |
