PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for the troubles caused by the secular deterioration of an ozone adsorbent and an ozone filter and the like used together with a corona discharge device by providing the corona discharge device having an ozone generation quantity extremely smaller than before. SOLUTION: A fine wire 2a made of tungsten and having the diameter within the range 40-50μm is suspended in a house shield 2b, for example, and a potential control grid 2c is fitted to the opening port of the house shield 2b to form a scorotron type discharge device. When this device is used for the electrifying device of an image forming device using the electrophotographic technology, for example, the ozone generation quantity is reduced to 50% or below of that in the past.
