<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a latch assembly for interwining prevention for a connector. SOLUTION: The connector 10 is at the terminal of an optical cable 30 and forms fiber holding structure with a cylindrical metal ring. This structure holds optical fibers by using a small passage along the center axis and is mounted on a housing. The housing has a cable entrance end 13 which receives the fibers and a plug end 12 for insertion into a socket. Fixed ends 125 and 135 of the latch of a cantilever beam faces to the plug end 12 of the connector 10 and free ends 124 and 134 face the cable entrance end 13 of the connector 10. The housing further has the trigger of the cantilever beam and this trigger 130 pushes the latch 120 slidably to detach the connector 10 from the socket. Fixed ends 125 and 135 of the trigger 130 faces the cable entrance end 13 of the connector 10 and free ends 124 and 134 face the plug end 12 of the connector 10. The trigger 130 has an acute angle to the center axis of the housing and is positioned on the side where the plug end 12 is separated, so when the cable 30 is drawn back to the cable entrance end 13, it is drawn back so that the latch 120 is not intertwined with high-density cable wires. This intertwining preventing function is applicable to an RJ type electric connector.</p> |
