SWITCHING DEVICE FOR MOTOR VEHICLE GEAR BOXES (PNEUMATIC SERVO SWITCH)

The switching device (10) is intended in particular for toothed wheel gear boxes in motor vehicles. An actuating rod (20) in the switching device (10) can slide axially inside a piston rod (22) and co-operates via a switching linkage (6, 8, 16, 18) with a gear lever (4). A piston (114) which can be actuated on both sides with a pressurised medium is provided on the piston rod (22) which co-operates with means (24, 26, 28, 32) for switching the toothed wheel gears. When the actuating rod (20) moves axially in the piston rod (22), control valves (100, 102, 106, 108) can be actuated via command pistons (92, 94). The switching force exerted via the gear lever (4) and switching linkage (6, 8, 16, 18) on the actuating rod (20) is transmitted proportionally via the piston rod (22) to the means (24, 26, 28, 32) for switching the toothed wheel gears.
